You are applying for a Student Parking Permit for the University of Cumbria. A range of permits are available but not for all campuses: if you are at all unsure whether a student parking permit is available for your campus, please check the Traffic Regulations and Car Parking Policy before commencing your application. In particular ensure you are aware of the specific details for the campus you will be using.

How to Buy your Permit:

Click on your chosen option below.  You will be directed to a "shopping cart" where you will be able to confirm your permit purchase – please make sure that you follow the process through to the ‘Place Order’ button at the end of Stage Three ‘Review Order’.  You will receive confirmation of your permit purchase by email.  Please retain this confirmation for your records. If you do not receive your email confirmation within 48 hours then please email permits@excelparking.co.uk

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT YOU WILL NOT BE SENT A PAPER PERMIT TO DISPLAY IN YOUR VEHICLE.  An electronic system for permit checking is now in use – this relies on your vehicle registration number.  Paper permits will still be issued for off campus car parks at Carlisle United and Williamson Park.

    This is an Annual AMBLESIDE RESIDENT STUDENT Parking Permit for Ambleside Campus ONLY. Permits are valid only for the designated Campus and cannot be used at other Campus sites or in Off-Campus car parks.

    This Permit is valid for a Calendar year and will run from the date that the permit is approved and expires at midnight on the date prior to its anniversary. The permit must be paid for on application by using Credit or Debit card. Applicants will need to specify their campus when completing this application.

    Use of the Permit and Parking on Site is subject to the University's Parking Policy - a copy can be found HERE

    This is a VIRTUAL Permit and no physical permit will be issued. The system will utilise your vehicle registration to validate your parking. You may enter up to two vehicles on your permit.

  2. 12 Week Permit
    £25.50

    This is a 12-week STUDENT parking permit. The applicant can specify the start date for the permit.  The permit is valid only at the campus specified.  It is not valid at any other sites including off-campus car parks. The Permit must be paid for at point of application using a Credit or Debit Card.

    Permit is valid for 12 consecutive weeks from the nominated start date. No refund given for any duration of the permit not used.

    This is a VIRTUAL Permit and no physical permit will be issued. The system will utilise your vehicle registration to validate your parking. You may enter up to two vehicles on your permit. 

  3. 1 Year Permit

    This is an Annual STUDENT Parking Permit for University Campus car parks. Permits are valid only for the designated Campus and cannot be used at other Campus sites or in Off-Campus car parks.

  4. Car Share

    This is an Annual STUDENT CAR SHARE Parking Permit for University Campus car parks. Permits are valid only for the designated Campus and cannot be used at other Campus sites or in Off-Campus car parks.

    This Permit is valid for a Calendar year and will run from the date that the permit is approved and expires at midnight on the date prior to its anniversary. The permit must be paid for on application by using Credit or Debit card. Applicants will need to specify their campus when completing this application.

    Use of car share permits and car share parking subject to the University's Parking Policy - a copy can be found HERE

    This is a VIRTUAL Permit and no physical permit will be issued. The system will utilise your vehicle registration to validate your parking. You may enter up to five member vehicles on your permit.

  5. Carlisle United
    £0.00

    Off Campus Parking Permit for use at the Carlisle United Football Club ONLY. The site is operated and managed by the Football Club and has its own set of Terms of Use.

    Please Note:

    • A physical Permit will be issued for your vehicle and must be displayed at all times whislt parking
    • Minimum Term is 3 month permit and parking is suspended on Match Days
    • Terms and Conditions of Parking can be found here - CUFC Parking Regulations
    • Parking is not permitted on the following Dates & Times - CUFC Restrictions 20/21
    • Parking on site is NOT managed by Excel Parking Services or the University and Customers must ensure they comply with all the Club's Terms and Conditions.

  6. Williamson Park

    This is an Annual STUDENT Parking Permit for Williamson Park ONLY.

    Permit is valid for the University Academic Year and runs from 1st September until the 31st August the following year. Permits purchased part way through the year will expire at the end of the Academic Year.

    This car park is operated and managed by Lancaster City Council and use of the Permit and Parking on Site is subject to the Council's Terms & Conditions.

    This is a Physical Permit and you will be required to display the permit at all times when parking. You may enter up to two vehicles on your permit.

  7. Short-Course-Permit

    This is a STUDENT Parking Permit for Ambleside or Lancaster Campus ONLY. Permits are valid only for the designated Campus and cannot be used at other Campus sites or in Off-Campus car parks.

    This Permit is valid for a Calendar Week (7 days) up to a maximum of 4 weeks and will run from the date that the permit is approved and expires at midnight on the date prior to its anniversary. The permit must be paid for on application by using Credit or Debit card. Applicants will need to specify their campus when completing this application.

    Use of the Permit and Parking on Site is subject to the University's Parking Policy - a copy can be found HERE

    This is a VIRTUAL Permit and no physical permit will be issued. The system will utilise your vehicle registration to validate your parking. You may enter up to two vehicles on your permit.

  8. Student Zero VED Permit
    £0.00

    This is an Annual STUDENT Zero VED Parking Permit for University Campus car parks. Permits are valid only for the designated Campus and cannot be used at other Campus sites or in Off-Campus car parks.This Permit is valid for a Calendar year and will run from the date that the permit is approved and expires at midnight on the date prior to its anniversary. The permit must be paid for on application by using Credit or Debit card. Applicants will need to specify their campus when completing this application.

    Use of the Zero VED Permit is subject to the University's Parking Policy - a copy can be found HERE

    This is a VIRTUAL Permit and no physical permit will be issued. The system will utilise your vehicle registration to validate your parking. You may enter up to five member vehicles on your permit.

  9. Register New Vehicle
    £5.00

    This application is to allow users to change the nominated vehicle listed on their permit for another vehicle. The existing permitted vehicle will be removed from the list and the new vehicle added as a substitute.

    IMPORTANT NOTE: Holders of permits that were bought under the 50% discount for zero VED vehicles scheme cannot change the vehicle on their permit, a new permit must be bought.

    The Permit change request must be paid for at point of application using a Credit or Debit Card.

    Please ensure that when completing the on-line application form that you check and enter all required details correctly, paying particular attention to email addresses and vehicle registration details. Please make sure that you complete the purchase process.  The University of Cumbria or Excel Parking Services Ltd cannot be held responsible if your permit is incorrect as a result of an input error.
